Márquez was arrested for assaulting the woman in public on February 22, after she accidentally hit his car. The influencer hit her and fled the scene, being arrested on April 4. After being declared guilty, he was sentenced to 17 years and 6 months of imprisonment for attempted femicide.
'Fofo's' brother, Rodrigo Márquez, reacted aggressively to the media following the sentencing. They refused to make comments and left amidst shouts against them. The sentence includes a fine and compensation for damages, as well as mandatory psychological treatment.
The Barrientos Penitentiary, where he will serve his sentence, has been the scene of riots and violent acts, including escapes. The influencer assaulted the woman in February 2024, which led to his arrest and judicial proceedings.
