As of now, authorities have not reported any arrests related to the case of Rubén Díaz Valencia, a 62-year-old Uber driver who was reported missing on January 24.
Rubén's family made a call to the public for anyone with security cameras that recorded in the neighborhoods of Rancho Viejo, Bosques, Belvedere, and Ajusco Tlalpan on January 24 to share the footage. The goal is to track the route that the victim followed and gather information that could help identify the attackers.
"Unfortunately, yesterday my dad was found dead," wrote Rubén's daughter, thanking everyone for their support during the moments of uncertainty.
Rubén's body was found bound with his head covered in tape, showing signs of violence. His daughter confirmed through social media the discovery of the body in a wooded area of Santo Tomás Ajusco. The last time he was seen alive was in El Pedregal de San Nicolás, Tlalpan.
Regina, Rubén's granddaughter, recorded a video titled "Hold on a bit, grandpa" requesting the dissemination of the search notice. On Wednesday, January 29, the family was notified about the discovery of Rubén's lifeless body at kilometer 34 of the Picacho-Ajusco highway.
