Local deputy of Movimiento Ciudadano, Rocío Montalvo Adame, is considering the possibility of becoming an independent deputy. Through her social media, Montalvo shared that upon returning to the sessions of the State Congress, her main focus will be mobility. She expressed her concern for the well-being of users and mentioned that, if her expectations are not met, she will make difficult decisions.
Among Montalvo Adame's actions, her active participation in the proposal for the restructuring of Metro Line 2 is highlighted, as well as her request to extend Line 1 to Juárez, the district she represents. However, the progress of this last project is currently in uncertainty.
According to information obtained by LPO, the reason that would be driving Montalvo to consider leaving the Movimiento Ciudadano bench are the discrepancies with the executive regarding existing problems in public transportation. Sources close to the legislator mentioned her discontent over fare increases, the elimination of incentives, and the recent proposal to implement charges in municipal vehicles that had been free until now.
In the past, Rocío Montalvo had disagreements with the coordinator of her party, Miguel Flores, due to her constant activism in favor of public transportation and her criticism of the failures of the state government, which is aligned with the MC bench. Despite this, she continues to represent Movimiento Ciudadano in Congress, as her presence is considered fundamental to prevent agreements against the PRI-PAN and to maintain a simple majority in the legislature.
