The Evaluation Committee has progressed with the final list of candidates for the upcoming June elections in the State, excluding figures such as Roberto Gil Zuarth and Marisela Morales. Both may opt to participate through the Judiciary, according to Arturo Zaldívar's report this Friday. The absence of Gil Zuarth, who had expressed interest in occupying a seat on the Supreme Court, has been criticized by figures like Noroña, who termed the selection a "pure conflict of interest."
The presented list highlights names such as Eduardo Andrade Sánchez, María Estela Ríos, and Jorge Nader Kuri, among others. On the other hand, figures like Marisela Morales and Paula María García Villegas Sánchez Cordero, daughter of a federal deputy from Morena, did not succeed in advancing to the next stage of the process.
Gil Zuarth, known for his opposition to the judicial reform in Congress, decided to run with the aim of preventing the ruling party from obtaining a qualified majority in the powers of the State. Despite recent judicial controversies, the electoral process in the Judiciary continues to advance uninterrupted.
"I am honored not to be on the list of the corrupt and author of the aberrant judicial reform, Arturo Zaldívar," Gil Zuarth expressed through his social media. Despite not being included in the Executive's list, both he and Marisela Morales may also compete by being proposed by the Judiciary.
