Violence in Tabasco escalated on Sunday with a series of attacks that resulted in seven people killed and the detention of 16 individuals, including 12 municipal police officers. Elements of the State Attorney General's Office (FGE), in collaboration with the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) and the National Guard, carried out an operation on a ranch in Nacajuca, resulting in the capture of members of the Public Security Directorate.

The search was conducted at the "Nueva Esperanza" ranch in the Hormiguero ranch area, starting on Saturday night and concluding early Sunday morning. Among the arrested, aged between 31 and 72, firearms, cartridges, and prohibited substances were seized. One notable detainee is Juan Antonio López Aquino, who held the position of legal advisor in the Public Security Directorate of the municipality. The search, authorized under number 005/2024 with letter N. 02814/2025-SALA, concluded at 00:52 hours on Sunday with the delivery of the detainees to the High Impact Prosecutor's Office under the custody of security forces.

During the night, an armed group attacked the establishment "Las Miches" in Villahermosa, where four people lost their lives, including an employee who died in a fire set by the assailants. Subsequently, the perpetrators headed to the Jesús Sibilla Zurita neighborhood, where another shooting resulted in two deaths. "Spike strips" were placed on the road, causing traffic chaos for hours until authorities mounted an operation to restore circulation.

During the day, the body of a man who had been executed was found at the limits of Centro and Cunduacán. Among other things, bags with dried marijuana leaves, as well as solid substances suspected to be cocaine and other drugs, were seized. Among the arrested are the 12 municipal police officers from Nacajuca and civilians allegedly linked to illicit activities. The victim found was handcuffed and showed signs of torture.
