In a joint operation between state and federal forces, the CONFIA Strategy achieved the arrest of five suspected members of a criminal cell in the community of Las Jícamas, Valle de Santiago. Among them was a 15-year-old minor who reported having been deprived of his liberty, being placed under protection for his care and identification.
José Salvador “N” (24 years old), Aarón “N” (28 years old), Óscar Iván “N” (24 years old), Esmeralda “N” (20 years old), and Nancy Abigail “N” (24 years old) were the detainees, originally from the municipalities of Cortazar and León. During the operation, three long guns, 20 bags with a substance similar to crystal, useful cartridges of various calibers, a Vento model vehicle, and a sporting air rifle were seized.
These individuals are presumed to have a direct connection with Luis Antonio “N,” considered one of the priority targets of the CONFIA Strategy. Additionally, they are linked to the attack on members of the Public Security Forces of the State of Guanajuato in December 2024 in Uriangato, where four police officers were killed, as well as to a clash with authorities on January 6 in Yuriria.
Investigations suggest that the detainees are related to high-impact crimes such as vehicle theft, cargo transportation and hydrocarbon theft, homicide, and extortion.
