
On Sunday, February 2, in Tabasco, a wave of violence began that left seven people dead and the detention of 16 individuals, including 12 municipal police officers. Miguel Ángel López Martínez took command in place of Héctor Francisco Morán González.
Authorities conducted an operation on a ranch in the municipality of Nacajuca, where they apprehended members of the Public Security Directorate. During the raid, firearms, cartridges, and prohibited substances were seized. The detainees, aged between 31 and 72 years, were transferred to the appropriate authorities.
José Barajas Mejía, head of the Prosecutor's Office, entered the site under guard, while elements of the Army and the National Guard established a security perimeter. Throughout the morning of the same day, a man was reported executed in the municipality of Centro and a shooting occurred in Villa Ocuiltzapotlán.
In another event, an alleged riot at the Social Reintegration Center of the State of Tabasco left seven dead and several injured. This is the second incident of this magnitude during the administration of Governor Javier May Rodríguez from the MORENA party. Authorities began an investigation following the discovery of drugs such as marijuana and cocaine at the scene.
