Arrested in the Metro for Inappropriate Behavior

Elements of the Auxiliary Police of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) arrested four people at the Mixcoac station of the Transport System. The suspects, two women aged 32 and 39, and two men aged 40 and 54, were caught taking photographs in their underwear on the platforms.

The police were conducting security patrols at the station when a citizen asked for help upon noticing the situation. The women were exposing the upper part of their bodies to the men while the latter took photographs. Following the report, the detainees were informed of their rights and made available to the Civic Judge.

Last July, a similar incident occurred on the Mexico City Metro, where two men and a woman filmed an adult video in one of the cars of Line 6. One of the men involved turned out to be an active police officer, which led to his preventive suspension and having to give a statement.

Although these behaviors cause discomfort among public transport users, they do not constitute a crime according to lawyer Leslie Jiménez from the organization Impunity Zero. Although it was speculated that those present in the car were part of the production, the situation highlighted the need to understand and unlearn certain prejudices surrounding certain social behaviors.
