The president of the United States announced the possibility of sending troops to the region and introduced a project for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip. He also mentioned the intention to establish a 'long-term property that will bring stability to the Middle East.' In response to these statements, Mexico highlighted the reactivation of the 'Made in Mexico' label and thanked private investment support.

On the other hand, remittances reached a record figure in 2024, although they experienced a slowdown towards the end of the year. In total, the remittances amounted to 64 billion 745 million dollars, 2.25% more than in 2023, according to the Bank of Mexico. This economic phenomenon brought with it a significant impact, demonstrating a maximum level of remittances for the country.

On security issues, the collusion of local authorities with drug trafficking groups on the southern border was reported. This issue was exposed by various media sources, which highlighted the local police's obedience to organized crime.

Donald Trump generated controversy by stating that the United States would appropriate the Gaza Strip, referring to a possible transformation of the territory into the 'French Riviera of the Middle East,' which would imply that Palestinians would have to leave the region. Meanwhile, Mexico fulfilled an agreement by deploying 1,500 elements of the National Guard at the northern border to contain the passage of migrants and fentanyl, ensuring that this would not leave the rest of the country unprotected.
