The former technical director of Cruz Azul, Martín Anselmi, announced in a press conference from Portugal his decision to leave the Mexican club to join FC Porto in the Portuguese league. Anselmi expressed his dissatisfaction with the situation, mentioning that he had been promised the possibility of leaving and negotiated his transfer to Porto, but at the last moment, the rules of the agreement changed, leading him to accept the European offer for the sake of his professional growth.

In this situation, the Mexican and fan politician of Cruz Azul, Xóchitl Gálvez, sent a message to the Argentine coach showing her disappointment with his decision to leave the team. In a video posted on social media, Gálvez regretted that Anselmi had preferred the financial aspect over the commitment to the club, but encouraged the institution to move forward despite the strategist's departure.

The Cruz Azul management issued a statement in which they denied any agreement with Porto regarding Anselmi's departure, assuring that there was no evidence of such a pact and that the European team had not provided documents to support this situation. For his part, Anselmi responded to these statements from Cruz Azul, claiming that the rules of the game had been changed in the process.
