The Attorney General of the state of Morelos, Uriel Carmona, announced that the Prosecutor's Office has requested the Chamber of Deputies of the Congress of the Union to revoke the immunity of former governor Cuauhtémoc Blanco, following a complaint of sexual abuse against him. Carmona indicated that the victim has presented evidence supporting the accusations.
In an interview with journalist Azucena Uresti on Grupo Fórmula, Carmona confirmed that they received the complaint regarding an alleged sexual assault committed by Cuauhtémoc Blanco, who is currently a deputy for the party Movimiento Regeneración Nacional (Morena). In light of this situation, the Morelos Prosecutor's Office has submitted the request for immunity revocation to Congress in order to proceed with the investigation against the former governor.
Cuauhtémoc Blanco's half-sister, identified as Fabiola, reportedly accused the former footballer of attempted rape, according to information provided by the media outlet mentioned in the interview. Additionally, Carmona mentioned that the Morelos Prosecutor's Office has at least ten open investigation files for other cases that allegedly involve Blanco.
The prosecutor expressed his desire for the immunity revocation process to advance without reprisals against state authorities or the complainant, and stated that they will not protect individuals who have committed crimes, especially if they are to the detriment of women. Carmona emphasized that it is expected that there will be no reprisals against state authorities or the complainant.
