Support for Anti-Nepotism and Re-election Bills

The president of the State Executive Committee of Morena, Gisela Sánchez Díaz de León, expressed her support for the initiatives presented by President Claudia Sheinbaum on February 5, aimed at eliminating nepotism and reelection. Sánchez noted that there is no observed rejection from representatives of opposition parties (PRI and PAN), as these proposals have consensus among the population.

Regarding the issue of reelection, the Morena leader mentioned that the Mexican people tend not to vote for candidates seeking to repeat in a position, indicating public support for no reelection. Sánchez highlighted that unanimous progress is expected in the Congress of the Union regarding these reforms, considering them an important step to strengthen democracy.

In relation to ethics in public service, Sánchez emphasized that it is essential to establish clear and ethical rules, avoiding practices such as nepotism. She acknowledged that even within Morena, there have been cases of such practices and reiterated the importance of eradicating them both within the party and in the public sphere in general.

Legislator Andrea Tovar Saavedra supported the initiatives presented by Claudia Sheinbaum, highlighting that they fulfill the promise made during the campaign to guarantee the principle of "effective suffrage, no reelection." Tovar celebrated that these issues are being addressed seriously, as they seek to combat corruption and uphold constitutional principles.

From the Labor Party, Deputy Claudia Díaz Gayou praised the constitutional reforms proposed by Sheinbaum, considering them crucial for strengthening democracy. She stated that it is necessary to combat the control of groups in power and open more spaces for citizen participation, firmly backing these proposals for a fairer and more transparent political system.
