Mexican actor Eduardo Verástegui and Jared Kushner are coordinating Donald Trump's strategy to intervene in the electoral race in Mexico, following the model of parties such as Vox in Spain, Bukele in El Salvador, or Javier Milei in Argentina.
According to Trump's statements, the intention is to turn the Gaza Strip into the "Tourist Riviera of the Middle East" after relocating Palestinians to Egypt and other countries, which again brought Kushner's global businesses into focus.
Andrés Manuel López Obrador referred to Kushner's investments in Mexico; however, the former Secretary of Finance, Luis Videgaray, did not comment on the matter. Analysts like Alfredo Jalife have anticipated Kushner's real estate plans in Gaza.
Videgaray, who settled in the United States after his term in Mexico, has closely collaborated with Kushner and has received criticism from the Mexican opposition, including Carlos Salinas de Gortari, for his closeness to the Trump administration.
In relation to this, Videgaray was responsible for granting the Order of the Aztec Eagle to Kushner, which generated controversy due to the offensive comments from the U.S. government about Mexicans. Additionally, Videgaray shows his financial support for "Viva México," the organization of Eduardo Verástegui that aims to become a national political party.
Kushner's decisions in Mexico, especially in the real estate and infrastructure sectors, are being monitored by political leaders like Alito Moreno from the PRI and Jorge Romero from the PAN. According to sources, Kushner has appointed Videgaray to lead Affinity Partners' investments in artificial intelligence, private equity firms owned by him.
In 2019, it was reported that companies linked to Kushner participated in infrastructure projects in the country, generating debate about their local impacts. The ties between Videgaray, Kushner, and Trump are being closely watched by various political sectors and analysts in Mexico.
