Electoral Campaign Begins in Mexico for the Judiciary

The campaigns for the elections of the Judiciary in Mexico will start in March. Gerardo Fernández Noroña submitted the list of candidates to the INE, inviting everyone to vote on June 1st.

According to the deadlines established in the regulations, the electoral campaigns will begin in March, thus opening spaces for interaction and dialogue with the citizens. Gerardo Fernández Noroña, who serves as the president of the Senate's Board of Directors, delivered the list of candidates that will appear on the ballots for the judicial election to Guadalupe Taddei, president counselor of the National Electoral Institute (INE).

In a statement made from the electoral body's headquarters, Fernández Noroña expressed: "There is no date that does not arrive nor term that is not fulfilled, and today we are here to fulfill a very relevant stage: the delivery of the candidacies presented by the Judicial, Executive, and Legislative powers for those aspiring to be part of a Judicial Power resulting from a democratization process."

He also added: "It is the will of the people that the only Power that was not elected now submits to the popular vote. And with this, we conclude our function, the Senate has no further tasks in the process." For her part, the president counselor of the INE mentioned that they received the list within the deadlines established in the Constitution and called on citizens to participate in the election.

Guadalupe Taddei shared: "Today we received the applications for the registration of candidacies for the various positions of the Judicial Power. At this moment, we acknowledge receiving the information, senator, and we are starting the review to ensure everything is complete."
