
In the midst of the wave of violence in Tabasco, the Secretary of Government, José Ramiro López Obrador, urged citizens not to succumb to fear and to leave their homes to practice sports, dismissing what he termed a "campaign of fear" aimed at instilling distrust in the population. During a public event, López Obrador stated that the recent violent incidents are disputes between criminal groups and not attacks directed at civilians. He encouraged people to trust the state administration and to continue with their daily activities.
In a different context, the detention of three alleged kidnappers was reported in Villa Benito Juárez, Macuspana, where a kidnapped person was rescued and a clandestine grave with two bodies was found in a house in the Linda Vista neighborhood. Additionally, in the municipality of Centro, two men were victims of an armed attack in which one lost his life and the other was injured.
For her part, President Claudia Sheinbaum expressed her support for the governor of Tabasco and assured that they are working together to improve security in the state. Sheinbaum emphasized that more details about a coordinated action plan with the state government to address the violence will be announced soon.
The increase in violence in Tabasco became evident with unfortunate events, such as the discovery of decapitated bodies, an attack at a motel, and the finding of a clandestine grave. In Jalpa de Méndez, the bodies of three men showing signs of violence and decapitation were found along with a threatening message directed at local authorities. Subsequently, on the road to Cunduacán, two human heads appeared with intimidating messages.
In another incident, in Villahermosa, an armed group attacked the "Diamante" motel, leaving the manager injured. These events have generated concern among the population; however, local authorities are confronting the situation and working together to ensure safety in the state.
