She is accused of being involved in various criminal activities such as extortion, kidnappings, and debt collection, being considered the right-hand woman of José Antonio Yépez Ortiz, alias "El Marro" and leader of the Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel.
According to official reports, Cazaños Luna was a generator of violence in the region, operating mainly from outside prison facilities. She was identified as a key collaborator of "El Marro" and responsible for coordinating criminal operations along with inmates, as well as facilitating communication between the cartel and prisoners.
The arrest of "La Candy" was the result of hard intelligence work and information exchange between the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection, the National Defense, the Navy, the Attorney General's Office, the National Guard, and the Secretariat of Security and Peace of the State of Guanajuato. She is described as a crucial figure within "El Marro"'s criminal organization, responsible for carrying out attacks against police and rival groups.
In addition to her ties to the cartel, it was revealed that Candelaria Cazaños Luna had a relationship with Néstor Rafael Valencia Doñates, alias "Valencia" or "Cachorra", who is imprisoned for homicide in the Cereso of León. Authorities had identified her as responsible for a series of serious crimes, affecting various sectors of the population in Guanajuato with her criminal activities.
After her arrest in Santa Rosa de Lima, the woman was made available to the Public Ministry to determine her legal situation. The capture of "La Candy" represents a significant blow against the criminal operations of the Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel, thanks to the effort and coordination of the security forces involved in the operation.
