Lawyer Alejandra Bernal Lazcano, legal representative of the adult children of Tamaulipas businessman Luis Carlos Vizcarra Millán, who was kidnapped along with his partner María Cruz Campos Frías, reported irregularities in the investigation conducted by the Attorney General's Office of Quintana Roo (fgeqroo). One of the mentioned anomalies is the refusal to grant the status of 'victims' to the businessman’s adult children, preventing them from accessing the case investigation files.

In an interview on "Aristegui en Vivo," Bernal Lazcano explained that the investigation has focused on the movement of the stolen money, obtained through information provided by a trusted employee of Vizcarra Millán, without the necessary legal authority to do so. Despite having filed complaints with various instances, they have not achieved satisfactory results.

In light of the reported irregularities, the businessman’s defense requested the intervention of the Attorney General's Office of the Republic (FGR) in the case, arguing the lack of trust in the local Attorney's Office and the need for a thorough investigation. It is noted that the modus operandi of the kidnapping and extortion suggests the involvement of organized individuals potentially linked to organized crime.

Amid the situation, Vizcarra Millán’s adult children remain uninformed about the progress of the investigation, as they have not been granted the status of victims, questioning the actions of local authorities regarding the case. The lawyer pointed out that a complaint has been filed with the FGR to transfer the investigation to the federal jurisdiction, given the magnitude of the case involving million-dollar transactions.

Bernal Lazcano emphasizes that the collection of evidence by the Quintana Roo Attorney's Office through an employee without the corresponding powers is a significant irregularity, raising doubts about the transparency and legality of the process. Concern for the welfare of the minors involved is also mentioned, assuring that they are protected after being confined during the kidnapping.
