Nuevo León seeks appointment of new Prosecutor

The coordinators of the legislative groups in Nuevo León are working to officially appoint a head of the Prosecutor's Office, highlighting the urgency due to high insecurity rates.

Nuevo León seeks appointment of new Prosecutor

The three caucus coordinators in Nuevo León have held meetings with the coordinator of Movimiento Ciudadano since the beginning of the year, showing a willingness to advance on important issues for the state. In this regard, Perla Villarreal from the PRD highlights the urgency of having a Prosecutor to address the high levels of insecurity in the region.

Despite acknowledging the good work done by Pedro Arce as the acting head of the Attorney General's office of Nuevo León, the coordinators of the PRI, PAN, and PRD benches consider it necessary to officially appoint a head for the position. That is why they seek a legal route to advance the designation process.

Heriberto Treviño Cantú from the PRI calls on leaders of all legislative benches to collaborate in seeking this legal route. Together with the coordinators of the PAN and PRD, they recognize the importance of resolving the appointment of the Attorney General for the state.

In this sense, the leaders of the benches agree on the importance of advancing the official appointment of the prosecutor to avoid legal blockages and obstacles. They emphasize the willingness, maturity, sensitivity, and professionalism of those seeking this appointment for the benefit of Nuevo León.

Carlos de la Fuente, coordinator of the PAN, emphasizes that the conditions are in place to carry out the appointment of the Attorney General. He underscores the importance of maintaining the will of both parties, Legislative and Executive, to overcome any obstacles that may arise in the process.
