The National Electoral Institute (INE) received the list of candidates for judges, magistrates, and ministers for the election on June 1. However, errors were found in the information, and the Senate was asked to review and correct these errors in the candidate registration process.
Electoral counselor Claudia Zavala detailed the voting process for the election of judges, ministers, and magistrates. She explained that voters would receive 6 ballots and should select candidates by marking a number. The voting process will take place in a single ballot box where all ballots will be deposited.
Claudia Zavala also mentioned the importance of transparency in the electoral process. It was highlighted that some individuals not included in the original list of judicial candidates were subsequently added. Certainty and transparency in the candidacies are fundamental for the proper development of the democratic process.
It is relevant to mention that the INE will not judge the validity of the candidacies, as that function corresponds to the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (TEPJF). In case of grievances or challenges, those interested must go to the TEPJF to resolve any discrepancies in the electoral process.
In conclusion, the importance of ensuring clarity and transparency in the candidacies for the upcoming judicial election on June 1 is highlighted. Electoral regulations and citizen participation are key elements to ensure the legitimacy of the process and the representativeness of the elected judicial authorities.
