Singer Alicia Villarreal appeared at the Public Prosecutor's Office in Nuevo León after the complaint she filed against Cruz Martínez for domestic violence became public. The program Ventaneando revealed that the singer initiated the legal process last Sunday, with the accusation of domestic violence and any other crime that may arise from the investigation.
According to some reports, the crime could be considered an attempt of femicide, due to alleged strangulation actions by Cruz Martínez. Villarreal arrived at the Justice Center for Women in Nuevo León in a black SUV, wearing a purple jacket, a color symbolic of the fight against gender-based violence.
Alicia Villarreal did not make any statements to the press upon her arrival, merely indicating that she would speak about her case after her appearance before the authorities. Although some media attempted to obtain comments from the singer after waiting several hours, she chose to enter the building without answering the journalists' questions.
