From the facilities of the 27th Cavalry Regiment in Nuevo León, Sheinbaum announced a salary increase for the members of the Armed Forces of Mexico as recognition of their dedication and sacrifice.

"This salary increase is not only a thank you for your effort but a recognition of your commitment and sacrifice," Sheinbaum stated in her speech. Her upcoming presidency of the Republic in October 2024 has opened new opportunities for women in public service positions, including the designation of the first woman Brigadier General in the Ministry of National Defense.

According to information provided by the Ministry of National Defense, of the total 195,550 personnel in the institution, less than 10% are women, with only 665 of them holding key positions in Mexico's national security.
