Senator Marko Cortés, from the National Action Party (PAN), expressed his concern about the political situation in Mexico, highlighting the importance of maintaining the integrity of institutions. Cortés pointed out the need to be vigilant against possible attempts to weaken the judicial system, referencing certain recent political acts.
In particular, Cortés mentioned his conversation with the leader of the PAN, Jorge Romero, in which he warned about the actions of the Yunes, indicating that the father, Miguel Ángel Yunes Linares, would have negotiated the vote in favor of a judicial reform in the Senate. The senator emphasized the importance of staying vigilant in these situations and avoiding falling for deceptions or simulations.
Recently, Senator Miguel Ángel Yunes Márquez, who had been a member of the PAN, generated controversy when he was photographed with leaders of Morena. Despite clarifying that he attended a meeting without affiliating with the opposing party, he later decided to formalize his membership in Morena at an event accompanied by the coordinator of the party's bench in the Senate.
After this incident, Marko Cortés harshly criticized Yunes Márquez, calling him a traitor to Mexico, to the citizens of Veracruz, and to the PAN, of which he was a senator. Cortés emphasized that the expulsion of Yunes from the party was a necessary step to preserve the integrity and coherence of the National Action Party.
Additionally, Cortés called on the national leadership of his party not to nominate family members of Miguel Ángel Yunes for political positions in Veracruz, arguing that this could lead to a harmful game for the state's politics. With these statements, the senator highlighted the importance of maintaining ethics and party loyalty in the current political landscape.
