The Mexican president commented in her morning conference that drug trafficking to the United States is related to consumption in that country, not exclusively a problem of Mexico. She emphasized that there would be no drug distribution if there were no consumption. She also mentioned that Mexico would not accept foreign interventions or intrusions.

In response to Trump's classification of six Mexican cartels as terrorists, the president presented two initiatives for constitutional reform. One of the modifications aims to not allow any intervention in investigations without the authorization of the Mexican state. The other reform refers to harsher penalties for those participating in illegal activities such as arms trafficking.

The president thanked Trump for the praise and highlighted that the decision of the U.S. government was made without consulting Mexico. She announced that a campaign against addictions would be carried out similar to the one implemented by Mexico. Finally, she reinforced her government's stance regarding national sovereignty and declared that no intervention undermining it would be allowed.
