Journalist Antonio Nieto reported that the most powerful law firm in Mexico, Penilla, Ramírez Moscoso y Salloum, legally represents prominent figures of organized crime in the country. Among them is 'El Mayo' Zambada, leader of the Sinaloa Cartel, as well as 'El Betito' and 'El Pistache' from La Unión Tepito.
According to the journalist, Juan Pablo Penilla Rodríguez, one of the lawyers from this firm, has had several prominent criminals as clients. In the past, Penilla was the legal representative of Miguel Ángel Treviño Morales, alias El Z-40, leader of the now-defunct Los Zetas cartel.
Recently it was learned that Penilla Rodríguez is the lawyer for 'El Mayo' Zambada, who requested consular protection and defense from the Government of Mexico after being detained in the United States. Alongside Zambada, the lawyer has also represented leaders of La Unión Tepito, one of the most dangerous cartels operating in Mexico City.
Among those represented by Juan Pablo Penilla Rodríguez are José Alberto, alias 'El Betito', and David García Ramírez, alias 'El Pistache', leaders of La Unión Tepito. Additionally, the law firm has also had the participation of Juan Manuel Delgado González in the defense of these figures of organized crime in Mexico.
