In an informal meeting, ministers Lenia Batres, Yasmín Esquivel, and Loretta Ortiz discussed with Morena deputies about the reform of the Judiciary and their possible re-election to the Supreme Court.

The Minister of the Supreme Court, Lenia Batres, explained that the meeting with the parliamentary group of Morena was informal and was due to the upcoming judicial electoral process. She emphasized that it was a closed meeting where ideas were exchanged and concerns were raised, without any campaigning.

Despite speculation about a possible early campaign act, Ministers Lenia Batres, Yasmín Esquivel, and Loretta Ortiz met privately with the parliamentary majority of Morena in the Chamber of Deputies to promote the judicial election process in which they seek to repeat in their positions in the Supreme Court.

According to the coordinator of Morena in San Lázaro, Ricardo Monreal, and the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Sergio Gutiérrez, the ministers requested the meeting and were received to explain the process and encourage participation, without directly promoting their candidacies.

In subsequent statements, the ministers affirmed that their presence did not constitute an early campaign act, but rather a response to an invitation in their capacity as ministers and a greeting to their fellow deputies in an informal setting. Loretta Ortiz Ahlf even expressed her desire to be president of the Supreme Court.

The meeting took place in the Aurora Jiménez auditorium with the presence of the majority of Morena deputies. The ministers highlighted the importance of discussing constitutional reforms in the upcoming election process, emphasizing the relevance of unprecedented profiles to be elected as judges.
