
Senator Miguel Ángel Yunes Márquez reiterated his call for unity within Morena and expressed his support for the incorporation of Alejandro Murat, a former PRI member, into the party. Yunes Márquez highlighted the importance of having a strong President to move the country forward and collaborate on the modification of laws and the Constitution.
Regarding the criticisms from some Morena members, like Raquel Bonilla, about his incorporation into the bench, Yunes Márquez was understanding, pointing out that there are more relevant issues to focus on in the country. He stated that, regardless of whether his affiliation with Morena is accepted, he will continue to support necessary reforms.
Despite the request from the governor of Veracruz, Rocío Nahle, to reject his affiliation, Yunes Márquez informed that, so far, the Commission of Honesty and Justice of Morena has not notified him about it. In case his request is rejected, he assured that he will continue to vote with the ruling party.
For her part, the president of Morena, Luisa Alcalde, stated that Yunes Márquez's request will be submitted for analysis within the party. Regarding the position of President Claudia Sheinbaum, who distanced herself from his affiliation, Yunes Márquez commented positively, highlighting that Sheinbaum did the right thing by focusing on her presidential role and not on party matters.
Finally, Yunes Márquez defended his right as a legislator to belong to the legislative group of his choice and pointed out that it is a matter concerning legislators, not the party president. He emphasized his commitment to contribute to the country and continue participating in legislative work.
