In February, Nuevo León experienced a significant improvement in security by surpassing the national average and rising from seventh to twentieth place in high-impact crimes per 100,000 inhabitants. Governor Samuel García led the Security Table for the Construction of Peace and Security in the Seventh Military Zone, with the presence of representatives from all three levels of government.
In the meeting, crime incidence and progress in implementing previous agreements were analyzed, highlighting the reduction in crime rates. Governor García praised the work of Fuerza Civil in protecting Nuevo León, as well as the Army's Operation Muralla on the small border. The continuation of coordinated work with the Prosecutor's Office, National Guard, municipal police, and the Judiciary was emphasized to prioritize security and protect families.
In a previous meeting with the head of the New Civil Force, Gerardo Escamilla, Governor García highlighted the advances in public safety, noting that in the crime semaphore, Nuevo León has reached the green level in key areas such as homicides. Authorities from different levels attended the meeting, highlighting inter-institutional collaboration.
García emphasized the importance of continuing to improve the security situation in the entity, stating that it is the first time in his term that all indicators of the crime semaphore are green, reflecting an improvement in crimes such as home burglaries, assaults, and business thefts. He also noted that homicides, a high-impact social crime, are decreasing thanks to actions implemented by local and military authorities.
