President Claudia Sheinbaum announced that security cabinet members traveled to Washington, DC, to meet with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The Mexican officials who participated in the meeting included the Secretaries of Security and Citizen Protection, National Defense, Navy, and Foreign Affairs, as well as the Attorney General of the Republic.

Sheinbaum mentioned that these meetings aim to achieve an agreement with the United States, highlighting the importance of dialogue with the government of Donald Trump. In this sense, she expressed that she does not rule out establishing a new communication via phone or even holding a personal meeting with the U.S. president.

The president emphasized the importance of keeping lines of communication open with the U.S. government and noted that despite any evaluations, it is essential to rescue the agreements made during the three calls she has had with President Trump.

According to Sheinbaum, meetings between the government teams of both countries have intensified, with the hope of reaching an agreement within the framework of respect for sovereignty and the Mexican Constitution. Additionally, she revealed that various cabinet members would meet with different U.S. officials to address specific issues such as the economy and security.

Despite these international commitments, the president assured that work in the country does not stop, pointing out that significant arrests have recently been made in Tijuana.
