In a historic event of international cooperation, the Government of Mexico carried out the transfer of 29 drug traffickers to U.S. soil in a joint effort to strengthen the fight against organized crime. According to the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, this transfer was carried out under strict security measures and is considered an important step in the collaboration between both countries to address violence and drug trafficking.

The transferred drug traffickers were held in different penitentiary centers in Mexico and were formally handed over to U.S. authorities in several key cities such as Chicago, Houston, McKinney (Texas), New York, Phoenix, San Antonio, Washington, and White Plains, New York. They were transported from Felipe Ángeles International Airport to their destinations in the United States in a process that included not only the transfer of the inmates but also their custody and security.
