The Attorney General of the Republic confirmed the extradition of 29 individuals to the United States, who were detained in various penitentiary centers in Mexico for their links to criminal organizations related to drug trafficking. Among the extradited are leaders such as Miguel Ángel Treviño Morales, known as 'Z40', and Alejandro Omar Treviño Morales, alias 'Z42'.
Miguel Ángel's lawyer denied the news of his connection as the drug trafficker 'Z40', clarifying that his client is not related to this alias. Additionally, lawyer Marco Antonio Avilés pointed out that there is no agreement on the extradition of the Treviño Morales brothers, in contrast to the statement made by the Ministry of the Interior that reported being unaware of such a process.
In the transfer of the 29 drug traffickers to the United States, the inclusion of Miguel Ángel and Omar Treviño Morales was considered, as well as other organized crime leaders such as Rafael Caro Quintero and Antonio Oseguera Cervantes. This action constitutes an unprecedented number in the history of extradition cases in Mexico.
Mexican authorities confirmed that the extradition of the aforementioned drug traffickers to the United States was completed, highlighting the importance of this action in the bilateral relations between both countries. This transfer reveals the existing collaboration and agreements in matters of justice and security between Mexico and the United States.
