
The governor of Jalisco, Pablo Lemus, praised the performance of Licenciada Luz del Carmen Godínez González, head of the Jalisco State Commission on Human Rights (CEDHJ), for the presentation of her third annual activity report. Lemus also reaffirmed the institutional support of the Government of Jalisco to ensure that the CEDHJ can carry out its work agenda.
At the presentation of the annual report, notable figures were present, including Licenciada Olga Navarro, president commissioner of the Institute of Transparency, Public Information and Personal Data Protection of the State of Jalisco (ITEI), the Secretary General of Government of the State of Jalisco, Salvador Zamora, and the Secretary of Security of Jalisco, Juan Pablo Hernández González. All expressed their willingness to collaborate with the CEDHJ and ensure compliance with its agenda in favor of the human rights of the inhabitants of Jalisco.
The Jalisco Secretary of Security also expressed its commitment to work closely with the CEDHJ, promoting among its police officers respect for the human rights of citizens. The importance of promoting a culture of peace was emphasized, and ongoing training for police officers was announced to strengthen their interaction with the community based on the principles of dignity, equality, and freedom.
During the year 2024, the CEDHJ under the direction of Luz del Carmen Godínez made significant advances in promoting health as a fundamental human right in Jalisco. Additionally, the "Human Rights Jalisco 2024" recognition was granted to five individuals and organizations for their work in the protection and promotion of human rights in the state. The Commission carried out investigations and issued recommendations to address cases of human rights violations in Jalisco, demonstrating its commitment to the awareness and respect of human rights through various activities and programs.
