The defense of the leaders of the Los Zetas cartel has confirmed that their clients have a valid amparo that prevents them from being extradited to the United States. There are two pending amparo trials protecting the brothers from a possible exile, which is considered illegal according to their lawyer.

"According to the lawyer, any transfer of the brothers outside the country would be considered 'exile' and, therefore, an illegal act," pointed out the Treviño Morales' attorney, Juan Manuel Delgado. He also clarified that there is no ongoing legal process that allows their transfer at this time.

The Mexican Secretary of Governance has not yet confirmed whether the leaders of Los Zetas, Miguel Ángel Treviño Morales, known as "Z40," and his brother Alejandro Omar Treviño Morales, nicknamed "Z42," have been extradited to the United States. These rumors arose after speculations about a possible extradition of the leaders to the United States.

Lawyer Marco Antonio Avilés, part of the defense for the Treviño Morales brothers, explained that the extradition process involves specific stages such as a formal requirement, a phase for judicial opinion, and the verdict of a judge. So far, no judicial resolution has been issued in this regard, which makes any movement in the Treviño Morales case impossible.
