
The Government of Mexico has strengthened binational collaboration in the field of security during a high-level meeting held at the Department of State in Washington, D.C. In this meeting, framed by mutual respect for the sovereignty of both countries, the commitment to cooperation in security and protection of communities was reaffirmed.
The Mexican delegation, led by the Secretary of Foreign Affairs, was accompanied by senior officials such as the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, the General of the National Defense, the Admiral of the Navy, and the Attorney General of the Republic. The agenda included fundamental topics such as illicit drug trafficking, arms trafficking, as well as the exchange of intelligence and investigative information, with the aim of strengthening security in both countries.
During the meeting, the importance of promoting security under principles of shared responsibility, mutual trust, cooperation without subordination, and respect for sovereignty was reiterated. This fruitful dialogue marks a significant advance in bilateral collaboration to address common challenges in security matters.
The U.S. delegation was represented by senior officials such as the Secretary of State, the Secretary of Defense, the Attorney General, advisors from the Department of Homeland Security, among others. Both parties highlighted the importance of these meetings to strengthen cooperation in security and work together in the fight against organized crime and other transnational threats.
In an atmosphere of constructive dialogue and mutual commitment, this binational meeting represents an important step in consolidating security collaboration between Mexico and the United States. Mexico's extradition of 29 drug traffickers to the United States reinforces the commitment of both nations to jointly combat organized crime.
