Lawyer Paulo Díez has pointed out that Grupo Pachuca has acted in bad faith in its dealings with Fox Sports Mexico. The controversy arose when, during a live broadcast, Jesús Martínez confirmed that he would remain with the channel, despite having a new contract with Fox Corporation.
In July 2024, Pachuca and León signed a contract with Fox Corporation without respecting the rights of Fox Sports Mexico. This triggered a legal conflict that has generated controversy on social media and among fans.
The legal advisor delved into the situation during La Última Palabra, revealing that Grupo Pachuca rejected renewing the contract, ignoring a preference clause that gave Fox Sports Mexico the opportunity to match an offer and maintain the rights.
According to Díez, the decision not to renew the contract with Fox Sports Mexico after the preference clauses expired last year was a violent, arbitrary, and illegal attack by Fox Corporation in collaboration with Grupo Pachuca. The omission of this clause resulted in the breakdown of the relationship between the companies.
