
The federal government has established the following official holidays in 2025 in Mexico: May 1st Labor Day, June 1st Judicial Power Elections, September 16th Independence Day, November 17th Revolution Day, and December 25th Christmas. If an employer requires an employee to work on these holidays, they must pay double the salary for the service provided, in addition to the corresponding salary for the day of rest.
The federal government has established March 17th as an official day of rest in Mexico, so activities in offices, government agencies, and schools will be suspended. According to Article 73 of the Federal Labor Law, employees are not required to provide services on rest days. During the third week of March, Mexicans will enjoy a mandatory day of rest in both the educational and labor spheres.

This day is celebrated in honor of the birth of Benito Juárez, an important event in the political and social history of the country.
