Survivors who were held at the CJNG training center in Teuchitlán, Jalisco, shared their shocking experiences. Some managed to escape after going through the initial phases of training and being sent as guerrillas to different regions.
A property was discovered that served as a recruitment center, where a large amount of footwear, clothing, backpacks, and even a farewell letter was found. Recruits were enlisted by nicknames, stripped of their belongings, and taken blindfolded in vehicles.
Some had the opportunity to say goodbye to their families, but soon realized the falsehood of the promised job. Authorities had secured the Izaguirre ranch six months ago, but after the insistence of the survivors, the collective Guerreros Buscadores de Jalisco returned to search for the clandestine crematoriums used to dispose of the bodies of those who did not manage to pass the extreme tests.
The collective revealed that the recruits, mostly men and some women, had been deceived through social media with attractive job offers. An altar dedicated to Santa Muerte and Santería figures was also found at the site.
'I consider myself a very strong person because character is forged through all these findings, but it gave you goosebumps to see everything thrown around, all the suitcases, and with it the dreams of all the young people who ended up there thinking they could have a good life, a better pay,' commented Indira Navarro, leader of the collective.
