After having been enemies, Ismael 'El Mayo' Zambada and Miguel Ángel Treviño, 'Z-40', will now share a common element: defense attorney Frank Pérez, who will have the mission to prevent both Mexican drug traffickers from being sentenced to death in the United States. This Monday, attorney Frank Pérez, who already defends Zambada García, informed U.S. authorities that he will also defend Treviño, leader of the Zetas cartel, as journalist Arturo Ángel reported.

Frank Pérez has experience in defending Mexicans accused of drug trafficking, as he previously was also the lawyer for Vicente Zambada Niebla, 'El Vicentillo', son of 'Mayo' Zambada. The first hearing for the Mexican drug trafficker will be on the upcoming Friday, March 14, where the charges he faces will be read in a Washington court.

Although he won the nomination in the primaries, Republican Pete Sessions defeated him in the general elections in November.
