Investigation Launched into Jalisco Ranch Ties to CJNG

In the Izaguirre ranch in Teuchitlán, Jalisco, a process of domain extinction has been initiated following the securing of skeletal remains with specialized equipment to measure densities in the ground. After detecting six skeletal lots in four areas of the property, located 57.9 kilometers from the center of Guadalajara, the presence of more recent human remains indicating criminal activities was discounted. Belongings of both victims and individuals possibly linked to illicit activities have been found at the site.

The State Attorney, Salvador González de los Santos, directly led the procedure at the ranch, where clothing and tactical-military gear were secured, ordered, and classified for investigation. By the governor's order, a domain extinction procedure for the property has been initiated to prevent its use for criminal activities in the future. This ranch has been linked to an investigation for torture and training allegedly conducted by the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).

Since last September, the state prosecutor's office has maintained an investigative line pointing to the ranch as a training camp for the CJNG. As a result, ten people were detained and are linked to criminal proceedings, held in the Puente Grande prison complex. Additionally, a body packaged in plastic was found at the site. During the inspection of the ranch, tools such as an excavator, compaction gauges, and canine pairs were employed.

In the operations, analgesics, medications for chronic-degenerative diseases, bath sponges, personal hygiene items, bath sandals, weights for exercise, and other various items were seized. Authorities reported that a forensic examination will be conducted to determine the exact age of the skeletal remains found and possible identifications. Furthermore, a thorough investigation will be carried out to determine if there were any omissions by the responsible authorities and to assign responsibilities.
