The Jalisco Attorney General's Office has been investigating the existence of the Izaguirre ranch in Teuchitlán for months. In September 2024, 10 people were arrested at the ranch, two kidnapped individuals were rescued, and the lifeless body of another person was found. The Attorney General of the Republic, Alejandro Gertz Manero, pointed out that it was incredible that a situation like this had not been known by local and state authorities.

The collective Guerreros Buscadores de Jalisco found three clandestine crematories, burned and crushed human remains, as well as hundreds of shoes and pieces of clothing at the ranch. Gertz Manero highlighted the importance of determining whether the case should be brought before a federal judge due to the possible involvement of organized crime.

After a series of operations around the ranch, six skeletal remains were found at the site. The Attorney General's Office kept the site secured until the Guerreros Buscadores collective entered in March, finding the securing seals broken. Attorney Gertz Manero announced that an investigation would be conducted to determine who was protecting the area and who the owners are before bringing the case forward.

The Deputy Attorney General's Office for Missing Persons of Jalisco discovered batches of fragmented skeletal remains, bullet casings, and clothing at the ranch. State authorities initiated a process of asset forfeiture of the Teuchitlán ranch, following instructions from Governor Lemus. The investigation continues to clarify the details and determine responsibilities in this disturbing case.
