Governor Libia Dennise announced new strategies to reduce organized crime in Guanajuato after meeting with President Sheinbaum. Emphasis on safety and collaboration was highlighted.


Guanajuato Enhances Security Strategy with Government Collaboration

The Governor of the People, Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo, met at the National Palace with the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, and her Security Cabinet. During the meeting, the importance of continuing to work together to strengthen coordination in strategic areas was highlighted.

In this regard, actions and results related to the reduction of homicides linked to organized crime in the state of Guanajuato were discussed. It was noted that during the month of March, a significant decrease in this type of crime was observed, and it was agreed on the need to maintain this trend through the implementation of concrete strategies in the 10 regions that make up the CONFÍA strategy.

Governor García Muñoz Ledo mentioned the willingness of both governments to establish strategies that include greater operational presence, intelligence, and investigation to effectively combat crime. She also requested the collaboration of the National Migration Institute, the Tax Administration Service (SAT), and the Financial Intelligence Unit of the Ministry of Finance to carry out joint actions.

Regarding the progress in security matters in Guanajuato, the renewal of security and justice procurement areas was highlighted, as well as the deployment of FORTALEZA GUANAJUATO and the Mixed Cells. Reports were given on operations, seizures, and searches that have resulted in the confiscation of violence generators, hydrocarbons, and derivatives, significantly impacting the financial structure of crime.

The Governor reiterated her administration's commitment to the security and peace of the families of Guanajuato and announced the upcoming visit of the Secretary of National Defense and the Secretary of Security to continue joint actions in security matters.
