According to President Claudia Sheinbaum, the active ministers YasmÃn Esquivel, Lenia Batres, and Loretta Ortiz, who are seeking re-election to the Supreme Court of Justice, are qualified candidates. Sheinbaum noted that personal attacks on social media do not contribute to improving the level of political debate and requested respect in the electoral process.
In her statements, Sheinbaum emphasized the capacity and performance of the three ministerial candidates, highlighting that their competence and background make them suitable to continue in the Supreme Court of Justice. She also stressed the importance of maintaining an atmosphere of respect and civility during the electoral contest.
"Offenses and disqualifications do not contribute to the democratic debate," the president emphasized, urging that the selection process be carried out in a framework of respect and solid argumentation. She also highlighted the relevance of focusing the discussion on the merits and capabilities of the candidates, avoiding diverting attention to personal issues or unrelated matters to their work in the Supreme Court.
