Political Tensions Rise Over Sheinbaum's Presidency

Eduardo Verástegui questions Claudia Sheinbaum's ability to finish her term, citing political turmoil and rising insecurity in Mexico. Amidst criticism, calls for new elections grow.

Political Tensions Rise Over Sheinbaum's Presidency

Actor and activist Eduardo Verástegui recently expressed his opinion about President Claudia Sheinbaum, implying that he does not believe her term will come to an end. This comment arises amid the political context in Mexico, where the approval of the Movimiento Viva México as a new political party has just been confirmed by the INE.

In a press conference, Sheinbaum expressed her skepticism about the viability of this new political party in the country, based on Mexico's history. In response to these statements, Verástegui disqualified the president and rejected being labeled as racist or classist.

The actor also voiced his opposition to the policies supported by Morena, the party to which Sheinbaum Pardo belongs, suggesting that her presidency could be in danger. On his social media, Verástegui emphasized that this movement represents those who defend "life, family, and freedom."

Additionally, in a previous appearance at the Conservative Political Action Conference, Verástegui performed a Nazi salute, which was criticized by Sheinbaum as part of a discourse of "racism and classism." The far-right politician also expressed his dissatisfaction with Sheinbaum's management on security issues, pointing out that the situation in the country worsens day by day in that regard.
