Criticism of Sheinbaum's Leadership in Mexico

The article discusses the political situation in Mexico under President Claudia Sheinbaum's leadership, highlighting the concerns of a minority that feels the government has ignored significant issues, including violence and the handling of the pandemic. It also reflects on the public's approval ratings and the government's response to historical injustices.

Criticism of Sheinbaum's Leadership in Mexico

Mexico will not be part of a coalition, as it stands out for its attitude of stoic acceptance of punishment. As issues like clandestine graves and cremation ovens continue, the Head of Government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum, asks to leave the ex-president from six months ago alone and focuses her accusations on the ex-president from 13 years ago.

"Mexico deserves respect," Sheinbaum insists to those who overwhelmingly approve of the actions of the Morena government. However, there is a minority that does not share this stance and finds it unacceptable that Sheinbaum, instead of meeting with the mothers searching for the disappeared, prefers to dance with children in Chiapas. This sector of the population feels shame, anger, and disgust towards a government that seems indifferent to the suffering of its citizens.

The criticism focuses on the lack of empathy and concrete actions in the face of situations like violence, the situation of the disappeared, and the Covid-19 pandemic. Additionally, the multimillion-dollar spending on political advertising that allowed Sheinbaum to gain power is recalled, generating discontent among those who do not identify with the decisions of the current government.

Despite the approval of the government's management, expressed by the majority of the population, there is a critical sector that refuses to forget the errors and omissions of the authorities. The lack of sensitivity and the prioritization of personal interests over collective well-being stand out.

This group of citizens not only criticizes the government management but also rejects submission and the lack of memory regarding situations of national gravity. The authenticity of political actions and the lack of accountability in cases like the collapse of Metro Line 12, which resulted in the death of 26 people, is questioned.

Despite the criticisms and discomfort expressed by this minority, the current administration enjoys broad support from the population, reflecting deep divisions and disagreements within Mexican society.
