The President of the Senate Board, Gerardo Fernández Noroña, has rejected the opposition's accusations regarding alleged disappearances in Teuchitlán, Jalisco, involving President Claudia Sheinbaum. Noroña characterized these accusations as a "dirty campaign" aimed at harming the current government. He stated that such claims are unfounded and wicked, seeking to damage the image of the federal government without solid foundations.
In a video shared on his social networks, the senator from Morena expressed his concern over how these events are being used to discredit Sheinbaum and the government in general. He emphasized the importance of waiting for the results of the investigations to better understand what happened in Teuchitlán and ensure that justice is served.
Fernández Noroña clarified the difference between forced disappearances perpetrated by the State, such as the case of the 43 Ayotzinapa students, and those carried out by organized crime groups. He stressed that it is essential to address these situations with seriousness and responsibility, avoiding any attempt to politicize or exploit tragedies that affect society as a whole.
The senator emphasized that the government is committed to clarifying what happened in Teuchitlán and ensuring that those responsible are held accountable for their actions. He highlighted that impunity has no place in this case and that the truth is expected to come to light to provide justice for the victims and their families.
