The National Electoral Institute (INE) has scheduled to install 245 special polling places preliminarily for the electoral day on June 1st. On this occasion, judges, magistrates, and Supreme Court ministers will be elected by popular vote. According to the country's highest electoral authority, 116 polling places will be set up in public locations, 57 in schools, 40 in public offices, and 28 in private homes. Each of these polling places will contain one thousand special ballots for each position to be elected, both at the federal and local levels.
The special polling places will be set up to allow people who are outside their electoral sections to cast their vote at one of these designated locations. According to an official statement, "The district councils, at the proposal of the executive district boards, defined the number and location of this type of polling place based on the number of municipalities within their territorial scope, their population density, as well as their geographical and demographic characteristics."
For the electoral day, the INE plans to implement between 16 and 20 voting spaces, including barriers and privacy screens, in addition to placing two unique ballot boxes on the day of the judicial election.
