Internal Conflicts Brewing in Morena Party

Tensions rise within Mexico's Morena party as members accuse Adán Augusto of neglecting founding members and favoring ex-PRI and PAN politicians. Allegations of betrayal and internal rebellion intensify among senators. Will his leadership face a reckoning?

Internal Conflicts Brewing in Morena Party

Some senators from Morena have openly expressed feeling used by Adán Augusto, the current president of the IMSS. They accuse him of sidelining them once he secures their votes to approve reforms, which has generated annoyance and concern over possible divisions within the party.

It is speculated that Adán Augusto may be forming his own group within Morena, which has caused discomfort among the party's old guard. Several founding leaders of the 4T point out that Augusto has appointed important positions to former members of the PRI and PAN, instead of remaining loyal to the original principles of the movement.

Among the controversial appointments, Miguel Ángel Yunes Márquez, a former member of the PAN, stands out as president of the Finance Commission, Javier Corral at the head of the Justice Commission, and Alejandro Murat as head of the Foreign Relations Commission.

Adán Augusto's presidency at the IMSS seems to be in danger, with rumors of his imminent resignation circulating for months. He is held responsible for issues such as shortages of medications, hospital collapse, and reports of multimillion-dollar diversions that have occurred during his management.

Initially, Augusto missed the opportunity to run as a candidate in Chiapas; however, he managed to be ratified in his position. Now, signs indicate that he may take a permanent leave due to paternity reasons.
