Assassination of Public Security Director in Teocaltiche

The murder of the director of the Municipal Police of Teocaltiche, Ramón Grande Moncada, has generated shock in the community. According to local reports, he was directly attacked while traveling in a car with his wife, resulting in his death and his wife injured and in an unknown state.

The attack took place on Tuesday, April 15, in front of a sports unit in the Maravillas neighborhood and was carried out by several armed individuals. The specific motives for the attack are unknown, but the Attorney General's Office of Jalisco is investigating the case.

Grande Moncada has been linked to alleged ties with organized crime, being accused by kidnapped agents in February of collaborating with the Sinaloa Cartel and having relationships with military commanders financed by criminal groups. In a video, it is mentioned that the director of Public Security, Ramón Grande, would be involved in these illicit activities.

Following the kidnapping of eight police officers in February, a series of crimes occurred in Teocaltiche that have spread terror among the population, including the murder of activist Juan Pablo Alonzo and police officer Luis Ernesto Chávez in separate incidents from March to April.

The Jalisco Security Secretariat took control of security in Teocaltiche due to irregularities in the corporation, such as forced displacement of residents and extortion by criminal groups, as explained by the state security secretary. With this murder, the violence in Teocaltiche escalates, and the community is experiencing moments of uncertainty and fear.
