Assassination of Teocaltiche Security Director

On the night of April 16, in Teocaltiche, Jalisco, a new armed attack occurred that claimed the life of Ramón Grande Moncada, the Director of Public Security, and left his partner injured. According to preliminary reports, the couple was traveling in a white car when a group of armed civilians in a pickup truck approached them and fired several shots, resulting in Ramón Grande's death. The commissioner's wife, who was also in the vehicle, was injured and taken to a hospital for medical attention.

Authorities confirmed the direct attack on the security director of Teocaltiche just hours after the Regional Police carried out an operation on land allegedly linked to the Sinaloa Cartel. During the intervention, stolen vehicles and weapons were found, and the value of the seized items is estimated at 33 million pesos. Although no direct relationship has been established between this incident and the attack on the official, previous reports suggest ties between Ramón Grande and the criminal group.

Last February, eight police officers from Teocaltiche went missing while heading to Guadalajara to take control and trust exams, and two of them were captured by alleged members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel. In a recording, the agents claimed that Ramón Grande maintained ties with the Sinaloa Cartel and high-ranking military officials linked to the criminal group. Four police officers were found dead, and the others remain missing.

On the night of April 16, Teocaltiche, Jalisco, was once again the scene of violence, with a new armed attack that left one person dead and another injured.
