
The national president of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), Alejandro "Alito" Moreno Cárdenas, announced the nomination of 212 candidates for municipal positions in the state of Veracruz, ahead of the elections on June 1. In a recent event, he highlighted the bravery and commitment of the PRI members in Veracruz in a complicated environment, reiterating his support for the party's grassroots in the region.
"We have demonstrated commitment and bravery in a complicated environment. We are ready to fight, and we will do so with proposals, proximity, and real results for the people of Veracruz," expressed Moreno Cárdenas. The PRI leader also assured that the party will remain steadfast in defending democracy and working to regain the trust of citizens, not allowing intimidation or violence to condition the political participation of its candidates.
Moreno Cárdenas pointed out that despite the challenges of the current context, the PRI has complied in a timely manner with the electoral processes in Veracruz. He emphasized that the party has faced constant attacks, slander, and pressures due to its position as the only opposition party in the region. He highlighted the conviction and proximity of PRI candidates, emphasizing that they are committed individuals aiming to transform their communities and deliver positive results at the polls.
Regarding the Morena proposal to prohibit nepotism in Veracruz, Moreno Cárdenas reaffirmed confidence in the PRI and its capacity to win in the upcoming elections, assuring that people seek governments with direction and good results. He announced that despite threats and the presence of organized crime in some regions, the PRI has successfully registered the corresponding slates for municipal candidacies, although there are still pending issues to resolve in five specific municipalities.
