In Zacatecas, elements of the National Guard carried out an important seizure of 65,000 liters of illegal fuel, known as huachicol. In addition, during the operation, three individuals were arrested at the site where this hydrocarbon was being stored illegally. The location of the seizure is on Federal Highway 49 Río Grande-Torreón, within the municipality of Juan Aldama.
At this site, National Guard agents discovered a tractor-trailer loaded with 60,000 liters of illegal fuel, as well as two trucks carrying drums with the remaining 5,000 liters of the product. The three men detained at the scene were unable to demonstrate the legality of their possession of this fuel, which led to their arrest.
In the midst of efforts to combat such illegal activities, this seizure represents a significant blow against the black market for fuel in the region. Competent authorities will continue to work to prevent and eradicate these illicit practices that threaten the safety and well-being of the community.
